Energy & Environmental Markets Analyst – Climate Connect Limited

About the company: Climate Connect Limited is Online Media and Analytics start-up for Energy Environment Markets. Started in 2010 by a group of Stanford University, Cambridge University and ETH Zurich alumni, it runs a network of websites and develops enterprise level solutions that provide access to content (news, prices, databases, commentary, forecasts etc) and analytics for emerging energy and environmental markets. Its operational websites include www.californiacarbon.info, www.chinacarbon.net.cn, and www.indiapowertrading.info.

Energy and Environmental Markets Analyst – We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with content development, research and analysis on energy and environmental markets in India, China and the US.


  •   Actively monitor news and summarise coverage on global carbon markets
  •   Manage and upkeep various databases tracking relevant indicators in such markets
  •   Assist with quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
  •   Write, compile and edit market articles, briefs and reports
  •   Assist in data mining, analytics and forecasting for Indian Power Markets

Must have –

  •   Bachelors degree in energy, environment, economics, or other related fields from a reputed university
  •   Excellent communication skills both orally and written
  •   Excellent MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  •   Experience of writing and/or editing articles and blogs
  •   The capability of handling multiple projects at a time
  •   Self-starter and willing to work in an entrepreneurial/start-up environment
  •   Access to a Personal Laptop

Desirable –

  •   Masters degree in energy, environment, or economics
  •   Journalism and reporting skills
  •   1-3 years experience in an analytical role in the energy/environmental industry
  •   Knowledge of economics and finance
  •   Ability to manipulate and analyse large datasets
  •   Programming abilities and familiarity with statistical packages – (VBA, Python, R preferred)
  •   Understanding of power markets in India (Thermal/Solar/Wind)
