Neste biofuels reduced GHG emissions by 8.3 million tons in 2017

(Source:Biomass Magazine) Replacing fossil fuels with Neste’s renewable fuels reduced global climate emissions altogether by a staggering 8.3 million metric tons or 8.3 billion kilograms in 2017. This is equal to removing 3 million passenger cars from the roads for a full year—almost half the amount of cars in the city of Los Angeles, California, for example.The amount of greenhouse gas emissions saved with Neste’s renewable fuels, primarily Neste MY Renewable Diesel, increased by 1.6 million tons from 2016 thanks to increased production at Neste’s renewable fuels refineries in Finland, the Netherlands, and Singapore. “Seeing these impressive numbers is very encouraging for us,” said Jeremy Baines, vice president of sales, Neste US Inc. “Everything we do at Neste is in service of making our customers’ lives easier, healthier, and more sustainable.
