California Carbon is hosting a webinar: Focusing on the recently announced Federal Offset Program, we give a quantitive evaluation of Canada’s emerging regional mix of carbon policies, and how they will interrelate.
Over the last 4 years, South of the US-Canada border there has been a dearth of new State or Federal-level carbon regulation announcements. Up North, it’s a different story. Under the Canadian Federal regulation, all regions must have a minimum carbon price under a scheme of their own choosing, or accept a ‘Federal backstop’. This has created a ‘Carbon Mosaic’ of carbon markets and taxes alike.
This webinar will provide an up-to-date brief on each of the state’s regulations, and to qualify and quantify the respective opportunities. We will then focus on the recent announcement of Canadian Federal Offsets, and evaluate how that program will sit amongst the other existing compliance and voluntary markets. Discussion will necessarily also run over the Federal Output-Based Emissions Pricing System (OBPS).
This webinar is free for all.
